For most of his career Louis Oosthuizen was a Ping player. In 2026 his bag looks very different. At LIV Golf South Africa in March 2026, where he captained the home team, LIV's equipment survey had him with a TaylorMade Qi4D LS driver and a full set of Miura forged irons and wedges.
The Ping fairway woods and Ping PLD putter stayed. As recently as December 2025, WITBhub still showed a Ping G430 LST driver and Ping iBlade irons, so the change happened over the 2025–26 off-season.

From Ping to Miura
Oosthuizen won the 2010 Open at St Andrews and has runner-up finishes in all four majors. Across the 2021 and 2022 snapshots on DORMIED, Ping was the only driver brand in his bag, with Blueprint or iBlade irons. The March 2026 bag replaces both. The irons are now Miura, a small Japanese forging company, split between the TC-202 cavity in the 4- to 6-iron and the MC-502 in the 7-iron to pitching wedge. The wedges are Miura too.
He also changed shafts. His Ping irons used True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100. The Miura set uses LA Golf L-Series 120 in every iron and wedge.
A low-spin driver at 10.5°
The Qi4D LS is TaylorMade's low-spin head in the 2026 family. Oosthuizen plays it at 10.5°, not the 9° many tour players use. That combination of a low-spin head and more loft is a common way to get a higher launch while keeping spin down. He did something similar in December 2025, when WITBhub listed his Ping G430 LST at 10.5° set down to 8.5°.
What stayed the same
The 7-wood is a Ping G425 Max at 20.5° with a Ventus Red 9 X shaft. DORMIED shows that exact club and shaft as far back as April 2021. The putter is still from Ping's PLD custom program, and the ball is still the Pro V1.

What amateurs can take from Oosthuizen's bag
- A low-spin head does not need low loft. Oosthuizen uses 10.5° in an LS head. If your drives fly low with too much spin, try more loft before you try a different head.
- A 7-wood can last for years. His G425 Max 7-wood has survived every other change since 2021. A reliable high-lofted wood is worth keeping.
- Split sets work in forged irons too. He uses a cavity-back TC-202 in the longer irons and the MC-502 in the shorter ones.
