What is the most used driver on tour in 2026?
The Titleist GT3 is the most used driver on tour in 2026. All three counts we checked put it first. Each one uses a different group of players, though, so the numbers don't match:
- WITBhub, PGA Tour: 26 of the 205 PGA Tour players it tracks (October 2026). Titleist has 40% brand share.
- WITBhub, all tours: 53 of 519 pros across the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LIV Golf, LPGA and more (October 2026). The Ping G440 LST is close behind on 52.
- Golfing Focus: 16 of the top 100 PGA Tour players (updated June 17, 2026). Titleist has 34% brand share.
Why the counts differ: each source counts a different group, on a different date. A study of only the top 100 favours staff players and leaves out the long tail. The all-tours count adds LPGA and LIV bags, where Ping is stronger. WITBhub's own 2026 stats page gives yet another figure (48 players from 496 "verified 2026 bags"), probably because it uses another sample. Always compare a source's share with its total, not just the raw count.
Tour usage vs amateur test scores
We matched each driver's tour usage to the scores it earned in MyGolfSpy's 2026 driver test, which used 35 amateur testers of mixed speed and skill. The MyGolfSpy (MGS) score weights distance 40%, accuracy 35% and forgiveness 25%.
"—" means the source doesn't give a count for that model in what we could verify. Golfing Focus's article only names counts for its top models. Its video mentions others (such as Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond: 6), but we couldn't find those in the article, so we left them out.
What the joined data shows
- Tour popularity doesn't predict how well a driver suits amateurs. The two most used tour drivers, the GT3 and GT2, share the lowest forgiveness scores in our table (8.3 and 8.5). The Qi4D is in just 10 of 205 PGA Tour bags but won MyGolfSpy's test outright (9.2).
- The Ping G440 LST is the exception. It's the No. 2 or No. 3 tour driver and still scored 9.1 for forgiveness, joint-best in our table, though its 8.4 accuracy is among the lowest.
- Tour drivers are long. The GT3, GT2 and Quantum Triple Diamond all score 9.4 for distance. What they give up is accuracy, which is the part of the score most amateurs need.
Who should copy a tour setup?
| Fast swing (105+ mph), consistent strike, too much spin | A tour-favourite low-spin head (GT3, G440 LST, Quantum Triple Diamond) can fit. Get fitted for loft. |
| Average speed, mid handicap | Copy the brand if you like, not the head. Go for the forgiving model in that family. |
| Slower swing or high handicap | Don't copy. Tour heads, lofts (often 9°) and X-flex shafts are built for speeds you probably don't have. |
Even the Qi4D, MyGolfSpy's overall winner, has a catch for fast swingers: its playable rate fell to 73.2% at high swing speeds, ranking 28th of 42 (MyGolfSpy).
Better picks for most amateurs
- TaylorMade Qi4D: MGS 9.2, the overall winner, with 9.1 forgiveness.
- Callaway Quantum Max: MGS 9.1, with the best distance score in the test (9.5).
- Ping G440 Max: MGS 8.8 and 9.1 accuracy. MyGolfSpy also recommends it for fast swingers who need forgiveness.
- Srixon ZXi Max: the highest forgiveness score in the whole test (9.4), but expect less distance (7.9).

Methodology: how we built this
Tour counts come from WITBhub's PGA Tour and all-tours driver pages (checked October 26, 2026) and Golfing Focus's top-100 study (last updated June 17, 2026). We only used counts stated on those pages. Amateur scores come from MyGolfSpy's Best Drivers of 2026 results table. We matched rows by model name only. Shafts, lofts and setups differ between a pro's build and MyGolfSpy's test builds, and drivers missing from either source are marked "—". The scatter chart only includes drivers that have both a WITBhub PGA Tour count and a MyGolfSpy score. Tour counts change weekly, so re-check them before republishing.
FAQ
What is the most used driver on tour in 2026?
The Titleist GT3. WITBhub counts 26 of 205 PGA Tour players (October 2026), and Golfing Focus counts 16 of the top 100 PGA Tour players (June 2026).
Why do driver usage counts differ between sources?
Each source counts a different group: WITBhub covers 205 PGA Tour players or 519 pros across tours, while Golfing Focus covers only the top 100 PGA Tour players. They were also updated on different dates.
Is the most used tour driver good for amateurs?
Not necessarily. In MyGolfSpy's 2026 test, the GT3 scored 8.3 for forgiveness, compared with 9.1 for the TaylorMade Qi4D.
Should I play the same driver as the pros?
Only if you have similar speed and strike quality. Most amateurs score better with the forgiving model in the same family, with more loft.
