Why a mini driver and a 9-wood
Scott's long game has five clubs above the 3-iron: driver, a 13.5° TaylorMade BRNR mini driver, a Qi10 5-wood, a Qi10 9-wood and the T250 3-iron. The mini driver works as a strong 3-wood that is easier to hit off the tee than a full driver. The 24° 9-wood launches higher and lands softer than a long iron. The shafts step up in weight as the clubs get shorter, from 63 grams in the driver to 73 in the mini and 83 in the 5-wood.
Back to Titleist, and to a broomstick
The driver has moved more than any other club. He used Titleist TS4 and TSi4 heads in 2020 and 2021, then Callaway and TaylorMade drivers from 2022 into early 2024, then the Titleist GT2 in every snapshot since September 2024. The GT2 is Titleist's forgiving model, not the low-spin GT3 or GT4.
Scott was one of the best-known long-putter users before the anchoring ban took effect in 2016. He moved to L.A.B. Golf by July 2022, first with MEZZ.1 heads and now with the DF3 in a broomstick length. Under the Rules of Golf it has to be used without anchoring it to the body.

What amateurs can take from Scott's bag
- Gap the top of the bag with lofts you can launch. A 9-wood at 24° is often easier to hit high than a 4- or 5-iron. That is why Scott carries one.
