Very little loft for a long hitter
Finau is one of the longest hitters on tour, and he has played his driver at between 7° and 8.5° of actual loft in every snapshot since 2021. In 2026 he sets a 9° G440 LST down to 7.75°. Very fast players can launch the ball high enough with that little loft. Most amateurs can't, and copying this setup would usually cost them carry distance.
The 2025–26 shaft changes
Two shaft changes stand out. In the driver, he moved from a Mitsubishi Diamana GT 70 TX in 2025 to a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X with the G440 LST. In the irons, he left Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 shafts, which he had used since at least 2021, for KBS $-Taper 130 in the Blueprint T set. The wedges still use the Modus3 125 Wedge shaft, so his irons and wedges no longer share a shaft model.
Putter: from prototypes to a retail model

What amateurs can take from Finau's bag
- Don't copy a long hitter's loft. Finau's 7.75° only works because of his speed. Get fitted for launch angle instead of copying the number on a tour head.
